Police investigate Muller Bridge incident

SOUTH HADLEY – Police are continuing their investigation of a Sunday incident in which an individual fell from the South Hadley side of the Muller Bridge.
According to Police Lt. Steven Parentela, South Hadley police officers responded to the Canal Street overpass on Route 202 at 11:50 a.m. yesterday for the report of someone acting suspicious. Police arrived on scene as an individual fell from the bridge to the rocky terrain along the Connecticut River bank in an apparent suicide.
An ambulance from Fire District No. 1 was dispatched and transported the individual to the hospital. Assisting South Hadley police at that time was an off-duty Granby police officer as well as officers from the Holyoke Police Department.
The incident remains under investigation. No further information was available at this time.
