Meet the Editor

Kristin Will is the Editor-in-Chief of the Town Reminder and Holyoke Sun newspapers. Will is a product of the South Hadley school system. As a young student in a fourth grade class in Mosier Elementary School, a class project in which she needed to create a newspaper sparked her interest in the journalism industry. That interest continued to the high school, where English classes became her favorite to attend. Will became a co-editor of the high school’s newspaper, Spotlight. Will attended Framingham State College from which she graduated as an English major with a concentration in journalism. There, too, she joined the college’s newspaper, The Gatepost, writing and photographing. Will worked her way up the ranks to become the paper’s Associate Editor. During a summer internship with Turley Publications, Will worked closely with former Sun-Reminder Editor Aimee Henderson. Henderson showed her the ropes of a newspaper in the real world, down to every last AP styling. Following her graduation from college, Will dove into the world of freelancing, where she was able to contribute to eight of Turley Publication’s newspapers. From the Agawam Advertiser to the Quaboag Current, Will took on any story. Now, she is able to focus on Holyoke and South Hadley. “I’m excited to report on my own hometown,” she said. “Walking through the schools on assignment where I was once a student is so neat, because there is where my newspaper dream began, and now it’s a reality.” When not sleuthing on assignment, Will can be found behind the lens of her camera or racking up miles on her bike. She will continue to work out of the same Town Reminder office located at 138 College Street. Drop by to say hello or submit news to your local paper run by a local lady.
